I have suffered for years from what I would call minor allergies. I only have sneezing and congestion occasionally. My typical symptoms are drainage, creating a pesky cough and discomfort in the throat. As part of my effort to explore homeopathic remedies for various health issues, I decided to try some of the Allergena made by Progena.

Allergena is made for specific regions of the country. You choose the mix designed to provide allergy relief for the specific area where you live. I had mentioned the product to my friend Wendy one day while we were talking about her use of the Ibupro product made by Progena in her business as a licensed massage therapist. Although she had been using the Ibupro for a week or so at the time it had just clicked that she had been a satisfied customer of Progena products for years. Every time she noticed her allergies kicking in she started using zone 6 Allergena. She said the stuff worked great.

I’ve only been using it now for about a week and a half. The concept of homeopathy generally means that results are slow in coming. Time is needed for the ingredients to work through your immune system. However, in my case I noticed a definite decrease in my sinus drainage in just a few days. I’m not even a good patient. The directions call for 2 to 3 doses per day. Some days I forget completely, and I don’t think I have ever used it three times in one day. As I write this almost two weeks after beginning use of the Allergena my sinuses are dry as a bone, a rare occurrence for me.

I’ll do another follow up post in a month or so and let you know how it has worked. It seems like it is going to be a very safe and cost effective solution for my allergy relief at this point.

When I first talked with the owners of Progena about marketing Ibupro-10 Plus, we discussed what types of pain could be effectively treated by Ibupro. The owner made the comment that he didn’t think it would be very effective for relief of arthritis. With this thought in mind, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I gave a tube of Ibupro to my friend Joanne.  She had started wearing a brace on her left wrist lately.  When I asked her what was wrong she replied that she was suffering from osteoarthritis.  Aside from the implications for her career as a dentist, she is a very active woman.  She teaches yoga at a local health club and participates in lots of outdoor activities including river rafting, her passion.  As we discussed the pain in her wrist and ideas she had for treating it, her concern was apparent.  She had tried another topical cream and had experienced little in the way of relief.  She was planning on seeking professional medical help but didn’t seem very optimistic on the outcome.  I gave her a tube of Ibupro and asked her to give it a try and see what would happen.  I saw her a couple of days later and she wasn’t wearing the brace.  The Iburo had produced almost immediate results.  She was pain free and very happy!

A short time later she became a customer of mine, recommending Ibupro to all of her patients and rubbing it on “anyone who stands still long enough”.

As my use of ibupro continues with various acquaintances and friends I continue to be impressed by the effectiveness of this product.  This is a must have in your medicine cabinet!

Actually, it helps take care of the after effects of stupidity.  One night a couple of weeks ago, I was doing some hiking with friends in the foothills near where I live.  It was about midnight and very dark.  As we came down from the forest land into the residential area, we had to cross someones driveway.   As I approached the edge of the driveway, I saw that I was about 5 or 6 feet above it and there was a small area of what appeared to be 5″ tall ground cover bush.  Rather than walking around to where the jump would have been much less I made the choice to go for it here.  Bad idea.  The 5″ tall ground cover was actually about a foot and a half deep!  Needless to say and crashed and burned severely.  Ripped the skin off of both palms as a splayed forward onto the asphalt.  Lots of bleeding the rest of the way home…  The next morning when I hopped out of bed I realized that I had seriously tweaked my left ankle as well.  It was painful to walk for sure.  I looked at it and there was no swelling or bruise. Hmmmm  I went for the Ibupro and put a small dab just below my ankle bone and rubbed it in.  Within about 3-5 minutes I could feel a major change.  I was about 80-90 percent pain free.  I was amazed!  That night when I went to bed I could tell it was wearing off so I hit it with another shot of the cream.  When I got up in the morning there was no pain!  It was sore to the touch but no discomfort at all while walking.  Now I’m 52 years old.  And while I am a pretty fit guy I have grow accustomed to the concept that when I injure some part of my body it takes a lot longer to heal then when I was a lad.  I’m not sure what or how or why, but I know for sure that if I had just let it heal by itself  I would have had pain for many days, probably well over a week.  The particular combination of ingredients in this cream really impressed me.  My medicine cabinet will never be without a tube!

There is a lot of information available on the subject of TMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder. However, many sites do not give a complete picture to work with.  The probable causes of TMJ syndrome can vary widely from injuries to the jaw area, to stress, or even problems with your bite.  TMJ symptoms include headaches, muscle pain in the neck, shoulders, and back, and the resultant weakening of ones general state of health resulting from loss of sleep.

This article points out two key factors in the increase in popularity of homeopathic medicine. The first is the increase in the discomfort level many of us are feeling with conventional medicine. As the number of prescription drugs that are available to our conventional doctors increases drastically, the possibility for harmful side effcets goes up dramatically. Since each of us has a unique system, the range of potential side effects is virtually unlimited. Homeopathic remedies, due to the small quantities involved, greatly reduce this concern.

The other factor is cost. Even with a decent health care policy, the costs associated with conventional treatment are putting doctor visits and the associated tests needed beyond the reach of many middle class folks. And lets not even talk about how much time is needed out of out busy schedules for an urgent care visit.

The result is that more people are thinking of becoming more pro-active in the maintenance of their own health. Proper diet, exercise and correctly administered homeopathic products are all important tools in this pursuit. Personally, I am new to the use of homeopathic products. The good news is that so far my experience with homeopathy, mostly in the ares of allergy products and topical pain relief, has been very positive!

A good friend of mine caught a bug from her son last week. We knew it was the same bug because of the unusual symptoms. It started with a lower back ache, lack of appetite, and low energy levels. There was virtually no fever, no coughing or sneezing. After about 4 or 5 days all was well again. Sort of a strange bug. The interesting part was what happened with her lower back pain. On the first full day of her symptoms we decided to try some IbuPRO-10 Plus topical ibuprofen cream on her back. To be honest, I was skeptical that it would work for her. We had both experienced some amazing results using IbuPRO-10 Plus for pain relief in the recent past. But I figured since this pain was being caused by some bug and not related to muscle injury or arthritis there would be no help for her. Was I wrong! I applied a small amount the topical ibuprofen cream to her lower back, on each side of her spine. I put the lid back on the tube and we walked around the corner of the kitchen into the living room. When I looked at her she had a strange look on her face. I thought something was wrong! When I asked her what was up she said “I can’t believe it, the pain is almost gone” This was literally within two minutes of applying the IbuPRO-10 Plus. I am not a doctor, and I don’t understand the mechanism for pain caused by colds and bugs. But I do know that this topical ibuprofen cream provides the same fast relief that it does for other types of muscle pain!
